An extremely tough queen stage brought the riders to the top of the Comechingones, a climb of 16 km with an average gradient of 7,8% (2140 m above the sea). Team Katusha’s leader Daniel Moreno finished 5th at just 17 seconds from the stage winner Kleber Ramos Da Silva from Funvic.

"I knew this climb as in winter I live here in the neighborhood. My wife is from San Juan but we moved to this region because here are more mountains, which are perfect for my winter training. I know this finish by heart. Last year we finished here too at the Mirador del Sol, but now we went 7 kilometers further uphill.

"Everything went fine till the last kilometer when I had to let go the other four guys. I have to be honest, the South American riders are in the form of their life. It is hard for us “Europeans” to follow them, but I can say for the moment that I feel good and my form is getting better day by day. I feel much better than in previous years and this is a good sign for me," said Dani Moreno.

The 6th stage started in Achiras and after 117,5 km of racing finished on the top of 16 km climb Filo Sierras Comechingones. From the beginning of the stage a breakaway of 6 riders, including Katusha’s Pavel Kochetkov was formed.

The group of Kochetkov had a good gap of 4 – 5 minutes all race long, but their break was neutralized on the final climb.

The stage victory was for Brazilian Kleber Ramos Da Silva, who attacked from the leading group and took the stage ahead of Rodolfo Torres (Colombia) and his teammate and race leader Dani Díaz, who saved his jersey.

Giro d’Italia winner Nairo Quintana (Movistar) finished fourth ahead of Daniel Moreno, who kept his 6th position in the general classification.

Russian rider of Team Katusha Ilnur Zakarin confirmed his good Tour de San Luis and just conserved his top ten place (10th) in the general classification.

Tomorrow will be held the final stage of the Tour de San Luis – 122,4 km in the streets of San Luis.
