Dani Moreno (1981) will remain in the WorldTour after signing a contract with the Movistar Team, a squad he already knows as he rode as a domestique for Alejandro Valverde in 2008 and 2009. The Spaniard leaves behind five seasons with Team Katusha where he was a luxury support rider for Joaquim Rodriguez, a task that he will assume again while also grabbing like the opportunities that will turn up "at 100%."

The blue teamis not unknown to him, something he valued and considered an advantage, as it rode with Caisse d'Epargne in 2008 and 2009. "I'm happy to be in a team that I know well, many riders, staff memeber. And, of course, Valverde, who has already helped, and Eusebio (Unzue) who again has me in his ranks to do the best job possible," said the Spaniard who lives in Argentina, in an interview with Biciclismo.

The agreement is for two seasons, 2016 and 2017. "Being in a Spanish team is an advantage. If the environment is Spanish, it is better in every way and it is something I value a lot although I have always been comfortable where I was," he explained.

His role in the Movistar Team should not be very different from the one he had with Katusha, now with Nairo Quintana and Valverde as leaders. "When I have to work for someone, I'm always there. And if I can go for victory when I have more freedom, I will try to take my chances one hundred percent," he said. Now he will be up against Joaquim Rodriguez who has been his teammate for five years."Clearly it is all very different. It will be difficult, but I will try to quickly turn the page," he said.

His palmares are impressive: winner of Fleche Wallonne in 2013, three stages in the Vuelta a Espana, two stages of the Dauphiné and third overall in 2013, winner of the Vuelta a Burgos in 2012 and four stage wins, wins in Giro del Piemonte and GP Miguel Indurain ... And in the Vuelta, he has four top ten placings: 5th in 2012, 9th in 2011 and 2015 and 10th in  2013. In 2015, he won a stage and finished third in the Vuelta a Burgos, was second in Il Lombardia, only beaten by Nibali, fourth in San Sebastian, fifth in Fleche Wallonne, ninth in the Vuelta, tenth in Liege...

Moreno maintains personal ambitions and has two monuments on his mind. "This year I was disappointed in Liege and Bala (Valverde) precisely was the one who prevented me from winning, but I finished happy because I was active from afar and finally arrived with the strongest which is not easy in a race like this. I think I can claim the victory like in Lombardy where I missed very little," he said.

His addition is the fourth official signing, after those of Carlos Betancur, Nelson Oliveira (Lampre-Merida) and Jorge Arcas (Lizarte).
