Moreno Moser will lead Cannondale in the Eneco Tour as the Italian hopes to kick start the second half of the season with a good result. However, the team goes into the race with an open mindset that should allow all riders to play their own cards.
On Monday, August 11, through Sunday, August 17, Cannondale Pro Cycling will attend the Eneco Tour, a seven stage UCI World Tour event. The race, which goes from the Netherlands and Belgium, includes challenging routes with finales open to many outcomes.
The riders, selected by team directors Biagio Conte and Gilles Pauchard, have what it takes to be among the main contenders during the entire race. The team is in good condition from past races. At the Eneco Tour, all eyes will be on the Green Machine's Moreno Moser who just wrapped up the Tour de Pologne. He is ready for a positive and strong second part of the season.
Marco Marcato, who recently completed the Tour de France, and Kristijan Koren are both familiar with the Dutch and Belgian roads of this race. Alberto Bettiol, Fabio Sabatini, Paolo Longo Borghini, Jean-Marc Marino and Josè Sarmiento will support team ambitions. They will also have the opportunity to fight for the win.
"We selected a team with different kind of riders to have good solutions for any case," said team director Biagio Conte. "We'll have few key riders to help but I want to give the chance to everyone to stand out. Eneco Tour is a demanding race and the motivations can play an important role to win."
