Cannondale Pro Cycling continues it's winter training program, preparing for the first mountain stage of the season.
Ivan Basso, Moreno Moser, Damiano Caruso and Federico Canuti flew yesterday to Mount Teide, on the Spanish island Tenerife, for fifteen days of training to improve strength and pedalling rhythm. Directeur Sportif and team coach Paolo Slongo will lead the camp.
“Mountain training camp at 2.000 metres is a focal point of our preparation, especially for those racing a Grand Tour,” explained Slongo.
“Teide is the only place where you can bring together training and relaxation at altitude, two essential aspects to improve base condition for the races.”
After the return to Italy, planned for February 21, Moser and Caruso will make their own debut in 2013 at Grand Prix of Lugano (February 24), while Basso at Gran Prix of Camaiore (February 28). Canuti, who debuted at Tour Down Under, will race the Grand Prix of Camaiore too.
