Manger of the Movistar team, Eusebio Unzue has said that the route of the 2016 Tour de France next year suits Chris Froome because it has a lot of time trialling although he is pleased that his team captain Nairo Quintana has made much progress in that discipline.

"The time trials give advantage to specialists and Froome has proven to be the best time trialist, whether it's a flat TT or one with an average amount ofclimbing. He will be the most satisfied man here. He has reason to be comfortable," Unzue told EFE.

He acknowledged that the fact that the profiles of the time trials are hard balances things and requires the final winner to "be more complete than in previous years". Unzue said Quintana "has already proved to be a great stage race rider" and "he is the strongest in climbing", besides having shown that he has improved in the time trial. "In the Vuelta he did a great TT in terrain that was not his and he defended himself very well. That makes us have a brighter hope for the future. But the complete rider is Froome, therefore he seems the most satisfied," he said.

Besides Quintana and Froome, Unzúe pointed to other favorites like Alberto Contador, Fabio Aru and Tom Dumulin and said that the latter "will not be disappointed" with the Tour presented today. Besides the two time trials, the Movistar manager said he was surprised to see how quickly the race will hit the mountains, with the first tough climbing coming in the fifth stage before the race hits the Pyrenees where there will be only one uphill finish. With many stages having downhill finishes, Unzue expects descending to be important.

"We will have to study it well, but there could be stages where the best strategy is attacking from afar," he said. Unzue added that Movistar will go to the Tour with Quintana as team leader but "supported by the best team possible," meaning that Alejandro Valverde, third last year, should also be in the line-up.
