A few weeks after they announced the signing of neo-pro Marc Soler, Movistar have added another young rider to their roster. Reigning Tour de l'Avenir champion Ruben Fernandez will leave Caja Rural to join the biggest Spanish team.
The Spaniard Rubén Fernández (23 years) will run the next two seasons in the ranks of Team Movistar. The young rider, from the Caja Rural, thus becomes the second signing of the telephone squad after the announcement two weeks ago of the incorporation of new professional Lizarte Catalan team, Marc Soler (20).
Fernandez is one of the great hopes of the national squad and the last Spanish rider to get the final victory in the prestigious Tour de l'Avenir, whose overall he won with authority last year ahead of the British promise Adam Yates. This season he was sixth in the Vuelta a Murcia and the Volta ao Algarve and grazed the top ten (12th) in the Tour of Norway.
