Despite the lack of hard climbs before the Queen stage on Saturday, the Movistar Team riders keep showing strength in the 69th Tour de Romandie, whose third chapter saw Michael Albasini (OGE) claiming his second win in as many bunch sprints.
The Movistar squad took full command in the bunch to catch the early break of the day and split the field on two chained climbs, La Croix and Rangiers - both Cat-2 - which left the peloton reduced to about fourty riders. Nairo Quintana, on top at the summit of the second one, is now in third place of the KOM standings.
The Blues' pace and a late attempt by Winner Anacona, on the move for the second day in a row, didn't avoid a sprint finish in an 80-man group including five of the Blues - the two Colombians, Capecchi, Amador and Castroviejo. Friday will bring a more intriguing finish, with the Col de Treyvaux (Cat-3) located just 13km from Fribourg's finish.
