The Movement for a Credible Cycling (MPCC) has suspended Neri Sottoli as a member of the organization "with immediate effect" until October 2015. As opposed to this, the organization accepts the measures taken by the Astana WorldTour and Continental teams.
Yesterday the MPCC held an extraordinary general meeting to make decisions in the Neri Sottoli and Astana cases.
At the last general meeting in October, the organization asked for additional explanations from manager Angelo Citracca to confirm the team's membership after Matteo Rabottini tested positive for doping. However, the explanations from Serge Parsani who represented Citracca were not enough and the Board of Directors of the MPCC "unanimously agreed to suspend the team Neri Sottoli, with immediate effect, until the general assembly in October 2015".
Furthermore, the MPCC explains in a note that it has taken notice of the decision by the Kazakh Federation to suspend the operations of Continental Team Astana after three positive tests from their riders. If the counter-analyses confirm the positives and the team resumes its activity, they will have to start with a self-suspension of five weeks according to the rules (a week for a second positive and four weeks for the the third case).
Finally, the MPCC underlines that the WorldTour team Astana met the standards by MPCC with their self-suspension for a week after two positive tests from the Iglinskiy brothers. The team did not compete in the Tour of Beijing and two Italian classics.
