Three days after his victory in the time trial Ryan Mullen (An Post) has added the Irish road race championships to his palmares. He beat his teammate Sean Downey and Paidi O'Brien into the minor spots on the podium.
Three days ago 19-year-old Ryan Mullen proved that he is an upcoming Irish star when he won his country's time trial championships. Today he continued his excellent progress by adding the road race to his palmares.
In an event where all eyes were on Dan Martin adn Sam Bennett, Mullen beat his teammate Sean Downey into second to make it a 1-2 for the An Post team. Paidi O'Brien completed the podium.
The result brought an end to Matthew Brammeier's string after the Synergy Baku rider had won the event four years in a row.
