According to Belga, AG2R-La Mondiale has signed Stijn Vandenbergh (Etixx-QuickStep) and Oliver Naesen (IAM). The Belgians will strengthen the French team’s Classics group. Transfers may be officially made public on August 1st.
Belga say that Vandenbergh wanted to ride more for himself, and AG2R La Mondiale can offer him this. Naesen comes from IAM Cycling, which ceases to exist after this season. They will team up with Alexis Gougeard, fifth in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, 2016. The Danish website Cykelmagasinet speculated last month, also for the arrival of super talent Mads Pedersen, but that was quickly debunked by the management of the young Dane.
