Ignatas Konovalovas (Cannondale) successfully defended his title at the Lithuanian TT championships. He was 30 seconds faster than Gediminas Bagdonas (Ag2r) while former champion Ignatas Konovalovas (Marseille) was 1.05 behind in third.
Navardauskas has dominated the Lithuanian TT championships in recent years. He first finished on the podium in 2009 and was also in the top 3 in 2010 and 2011 before he took a maiden title in 2012. He had to settle for third behind multiple champion Konovalovas in 2013 but after last year's win, today' victory represents his third win in the event.
Navardauskas covered the 30km course in Ignalina in 38.26, thus confirming his good conditon as he aims for a spot on the Cannondale roster for the Tour de France.
On Sunday, Navardauskas will be one of the favourites in the road race where Paulius Sisveicius in the defending champion. The Cannondale rider took the title in 2007 and 2011.
