After a disappointing start to the race, Daniel Navarro (Cofidis) showed himself in the break in today's stage of the Tour de France. However, he was dropped on the Port de Lers and despite chasing hard with Jerome Coppel and Sylvain Chavanel, he would never make it back. He ended the stage in 63rd.
"The truth is that I did not have good feelings. I am still affected by my crash and suddenly it was hard to keep up with the best. But what is positive is that I am getting better every day so I hope I will continue to improve," he said.
"It was planned that he should try to join the break. He was there throughout much of the day but on the penultimate climb it became more difficult for him," sports director Stephane Auge said.
