Daniel Navarro will lead Cofidis in the Vuelta a Andalucia. While the Spanish climber will focus on the GC, new signings Michael van Staeyen and Kenneth Vanbilsen will try to shine in the sprints.
As it has been the case for the last few years, Daniel Navarro will start his season with a block of racing in Spain that includes the Vuelta a Andalucia. The Spaniard who won a stage in the recent Vuelta a Espana and finished in the top 10 overall, will try to finish in the top 10 in the overall standings in the race whose two hard summit finishes mean that the race suits the climber well.
In the hard stages, he will be supported by former Vuelta king of the mountains Nicolas Edet, Romain Hardy who finished on the podium in the 2014 Tour of Turkey and local hero Luis Angel Mate who usually does well in his home race.
For the sprint stages, the Cofidis team will count on a pair of new signings from Belgium. Michael van Staeyen and Kenneth Vanbilsen enjoyed lots of success at Topsport Vlaanderen and will get a chance to shine in Spain before they are expected to play a role in Nacer Bouhanni's sprint train.
The team is completed by team veteran Romain Zingle.
