Tom Bohli (BMC Development) is one of the emerging Swiss talents in the peloton and with consistently good performances, he earned himself a stagiaire contract with the BMC team.
"I can look back on a very good road season. I have achieved some of my goals," Bohli told radsport-news.com. Among the greatest achievements of the 21-year-old were the prologue win at the Tour de Normandie (2.2) where he was also able to finish in sixth place of the final classification. "However, I would have liked to do even better in the GC there," he added. But also the home win at the Berner Rundfahrt (1.2) was a special experience.
The Swiss vice-champion in the U23 time trial spent the second half of the year with the BMC pro team and did a few stage and one-day races. “I was able to gain some great experience and even made a few good results," said Bohli who was ninth overall in the Tour de l`Eurometropole (2.1). He had hoped for more from the Road World Championships in Richmond where he finished 12th in the U23 road race.
When asked his plans for the coming season, Bohli said: "I will certainly continue at BMC." However, he did not reveal that he was speaking about the professional team. On Friday, the BMC management finally announced that they have signed Bohli as a neo-pro. "He has performed at a high level of performance in 2015, especially in the time trial. We will try to find rewarding challenges for him in his rookie season," said BMC general manager Jim Ochowicz.
