The organizers of the Tour of Denmark have unveiled the course of the 2017 edition and the first major change concerns the dates of the event.
For the first time in its history, the event will take place in September while it used to be held during the first week of August or in late July. With the new date, the organizers hope to work as a preparation event for the Worlds in Norway.
In 2017, the race will start from Frederiksberg, the traditional host of the final stage, September 12. The format will be unchanged with five stages, including a hilly stage on the third day and an individual time on the fourth day. The organizers are satisfied to see the race taking most of the difficult climbs of the country.
The event will finish in Aarhus, European culture city of 2017, at the end of another hilly stage of 200 kilometers.
Michael Valgren won the race in 2017.
