Sports director at IAM Cycling Rik Verbrugghe will change position after the demise of the Swiss team. According to La Dernière Heure, the Belgian has "an agreement" to work with the Wallonie-Bruxelles team Wallonia-Brussels which will move to the Pro Continental level and in which he will have a role in scouting and coordination.
"In the south, we do a very good job for young riders. It is a job that I love," he told RTBF.
However, it was not the dream job for Verbbrughe who was in talks with several teams to find a position in a professional team.
"I do not hide it. It's a step backwards. Lately, I have been dedicated to IAM and I did not want to accept the first offer that came. I have been in contact with Lotto to become performance coach, but for various reasons, this never worked out."
The Belgian does not give up and hope to find a better job for 2018.
