The Italian Southeast team will continue under the name Southeast-Venezuela. Today the team management today signed an agreement with the Ministry of Sports of the South American country which becomes the second title sponsor.
The project will also include a women's team and a team is being set up for U23 riders. The latter will be a breeding ground for talent in South America. This year Venezuelans Gilbert Ducournau and Tomas Aurelio Gil Martinez will be under contract with the Italian team. Last year Yonathan Monsalve was 30th in the Giro d'Italia while riding for the Italian team.
The aim of the collaboration is to develop new Venezuelan talents, sports directors, masseurs and mechanics. Furthermore, several Venezuelan riders will be coached intensively with a view towards the Olympics.
Southeast also used the opportunity to present the new kit for next season. New signing Filippo Pozzato acted as the model. The jersey is mainly gray with yellow sections and a large black patch with the name of the sponsors.
