2010 Tour de San Luis winner Vincenzo Nibali says he is going to try and win the race for a second time when it starts tomorrow. The Astana rider is racing for the Italian national team at the race.

“It is the fifth time that I am racing the Tour de San Luis. I don’t know how my shape is at the moment but it is my goal to try to win again,” Nibali told the press in San Luis on Saturday. “Last year I didn’t race because my programme didn’t allow for it but this year my objective is the Giro d’Italia so San Luis is very important for me. It is a good way to start the season and get some good preparation to be at 100 per cent for my objective. The weather here is also better than in Europe so that makes it better to get ready here.”

Nibali will get a showdown with Rafal Majka in San Luis, who is also targeting the Giro after finishing third in the 2015 Vuelta.
