Next Sunday the Tour de San Luis, the most important race of South America, will start. It consists of seven stages from 18 to 24 January and will mark the season debut of Vincenzo Nibali and his teammates on the roads of Argentina.

"It will be my first race of the year," said the Astana captain, "and I want to do well. It will be the sixth time that I do this race and I have good memories, the most important my success in 2010."

Along with the Italian champion, the Astana Pro Team will be at the start with Valerio Agnoli, Eros Capecchi, Miguel Angel Lopez, Michele Scarponi, Bakhtiyar Kozhatayev led by directeurs sportif Alexander Shefer and Paolo Slongo.

The race will begin with a 21km team time trial and the fourth stage with the climb to the High Del Amago (1710m) and especially the penultimate stage with arrival on the fearsome climb up to 2140m at Filo Sierras Comechingones will probably be decisive for the victory in the 2016 edition.
