This time it's really over. At 37, after a season in the amateur ranks (he was initially going to quit in April, but then decided to continue until the end of the year), Nicolas Vogondy is now definitely hanging up his bike. 

Born in 1977, he was one of the best riders of his generation in France, largely due to the three national championships, two on the road and one time trial, and some good positions in some major races, such as the sixth place in the Criterium du Dauphine 2010, where he also won a stage. 

A decent time trialist and climber, in 2002, his second year as a pro, he came 19th and was the second best young rider in the Tour de France, but he was unable to follow up on this result later in his career, proving to be more of a classic racer or shorter stage racer.
