Klaas Vantornout sustained no fracture in his crash at the Superprestige racemin Zonhoven. That has been revealed after investigation by his doctor Marc Hemeryck.
The rider from Sunweb-Napoleon Games crashed hard against. He complained of pain in the entire left side of his body. Especially his shoulder bothered him so he went for further examinations.
"There is a severe sprain and a slight tear in a shoulder muscle," says his team. "Halfway through next week, the Belgian champion should be usual self again."
"Now I have much pain, and that will continue the following days," he says. "But I'm tougher than that. This will not get me off my track."
On Monday Vantornout will do another ultrasound check.
