After a year at the continental level, Maxime Vantomme was reported to have signed a contract with IAM. Now reports suggest that the Belgian will continue at Roubaix Lille Metropole for another year.
At one point, it seemed that only the official confirmation was missing before Maxime Vantomme could join IAM but in the last few days, things have changed and now it seems that the Belgian will ride at Roubaix Lille Metropole for another year.
According to various media in France and Belgium, the 28-year-old rider has already signed a one-year extension of his contract with the French continental team, thus giving up on the chance to return to a higher level. The fortmer Katusha rider had a good season in which he won two races: GP Samyn and the final stage of the Paris-Arras Tour.
In addition to Vantomme, Roubaix Lille Metropole reportedly have extended the contracts with Frenchmen Rudy Barbier, Romain Pillon and Jimmy Turgis and Belgians Timothy Dupont and Baptiste Planckaert . After signing Dieter Bouvry, Jeremy Leveau and Thomas Damuseau, Roubaix Lille Metropole has a roster of nine riders and is expected to announce another one or two.
