Yesterday it came out that Chris Horner has signed a contract with a team whose identity is set to be unveiled in the near future. However, Horner won't be riding for an Italian formation in 2015 as the managers of most pro continental teams from the country refuse to have signed the 2013 Vuelta champion.

Chris Horner has reportedly signed a new contract but apparently he won't join an Italian team. After the announcement by his agent Baden Cooke that the American has found a new - probably European team - many speculated that he would join an Italian formation and the names of Fantini - Nippo - De Rosa and Neri Sottoli have both been named as possible destinations.

However, Spaziociclismo has contacted both teams who both refuse that they have signed a contract with Horner. Team managers Francesco Pelosi and Angelo Citracca both deny the rumours, saying that it would be in contradiction with their philosophy to join forces with the Amercian.

The same goes for Androni-Venezuela leader Gianni Savio who has ruled out signing the 43-year-old former Lampre-Merida rider as he has already finalized his 18-rider roster. Finally, it is unthinkable that Horner would have signed with Bardiani -CSF, a 100% Italian team that is mostly made up of young riders.
