Due to fierce wind gusts, the World Cup race in Koksijde was cancelled 10 days ago. "We have decided not to move the race to another date," the organizers writes on Twitter on Wednesday morning.

There was talk that the cyclo-cross race in Koksijde would perhaps take place in late December, but that idea is now shelved permanently.

10 days ago, the cancellation of the Duivencross created frustration. Because of the strong winds, the organizers could not ensure the safety of fans and riders and the race was canceled. Mathieu van der Poel was convinced that the decision was taken too early and eventually did a training ride of 207 kilometers.
