Edvald Boasson Hagen is going to ride Amstel Gold Race, but his DS Jens Zemke says he doesn’t expect anything from the Norwegian champ after his great performance at Paris-Roubaix.
“Anything we get from him now will be a bonus,” Dimension Data Jens Zemke told Cyclingnews. “He’s been really up there all the way since Qatar, so normally by this point, after doing all the cobbled classics, you’re done after Paris-Roubaix. But I asked him if he’d liked to race Amstel, he was fine with that, so it’s another chance for him.”
Kristian Sbaragli is expected to lead the team after winning the bunch sprint from the second group at last year’s event.
“We have also Kristian Sparagli, who rode well last year, finishing in the top 20 and winning the bunch sprint for the second group - which was last year good for us, this year the expectations are a lot higher.”
