According to Ciclismo Internacional, Peter Sagan won't be at the start of the Tour de San Luis in 2015. Instead, the race may attract Mark Cavendish and Michal Kwiatkowski who have both been at the event in the past.

On Thursday, director of the San Luis Giovanni Lombardi will hold a press conference to announce the major teams and riders participating in the 9th edition of the race that will take place in January.

Despite the lack of official confirmation, Ciclismo Internactional has information abour the main stars who will line up at the race in addition to Joaquim Rodriguez, Daniel Moreno and Nairo Quintana who have already confirmed their participation.

The Colombian participation will be marked by the presence of Team Colombia and the national team who whille have the added incentive that their national championships will be held in early February.

Among the absentees, we find the Trek team which did brilliantly in 2014 when Julian Arredondo won two stages and Giacomo Nizzolo took a single win. Furthermore, Vincenzo Nibali may miss the race as his Astana team won't be present but he has indicated that he may ride the race with the national team.

Jamis Hagens Berman, United HealthCare, Buenos Aires Provincia and San Luis Somos Todos will all be at the start as well as several national teams, including the Argentinean.

Other teams include Androni-Venezuela and Bretagne-Seche who have past experience from the race that will take place from January 19 to 25 and has a great chance of being televised for the first time.

Pending Lombardi's confirmation, Ciclismo Internacional reports that Peter Sagan won't return to the race where he has started his 2013 and 2014 seasons. However, Michal Kwiatkowski and Mark Cavendish have both shown interest in the race.

In November and December, the teams will finalize their schedules for the first months but it is clear that there is a growing interest in the Tour de San Luis.
