"We worked to help Guardini to win; we will try again in the last stage."
Those were the words of Astana's Alexey Lutsenko after stage two Abu Dhabi Tour. Lutsenko, after his victory in the Tour of Almaty, is facing the heat of Abu Dhabi to help the team and also to try to make a good result.
Lutsenko with his teammates have been, for most of the day, on the front of the bunch to control the race before the final sprint won by Elia Viviani of Italy.
"Not all days are the same, however, thanks to @AgnoliValerio and @TiraAstana [Paolo Tiralongo] for the work today," Guardini tweeted after the stage.
After this flat stage, tomorrow offers the decisive stage with the cinish at the end of the Jebel Hafeet ascent - 11km climb on gradients that touch 11% - with Fabio Aru and Vincenzo Nibali among the great contenders for Abu Dhabi Tour final victory.
