The key organizer of the USA Pro Challenge in the Colorado mountains who previously said the event would not be held this year, says that there won't be a 2017 edition either.
"We are going to continue exploring opportunities in the sport and certainly opportunities here in Colorado when they arise. But all the elements were not there for us to put it together for 2017", race executive Shawn Hunter told the Denver Post.
A group led by Colorado businessman Ken Gart is organizing a new professional bike event for 2017. It will be different from the week-long Pro Challenge, which attracted top cyclists from across the world.
