Jurgen Van Den Broeck won't be present at Wednesday's Tour de France presentation. However, Lotto Belisol refuses the suggestion that his absence indicates that he will skip the French race in 2015.
On Wednesday, the 2015 Tour de France will be presented in Paris. Lotto Belisol won't brings its leader Jurgen Van Den Broeck to Paris. Instead, Tony Gallopin will represent the Belgian team.
Last year Gallopin won a Tour de France stage and wore the yellow jersey. According to the Belgian team, this makes it "logical" that the Frenchman represents the team at the presentation.
And it is not possible to draw more conclusions from the decision.
"On Friday, the riders will sit together with the team and for the first time talk about the schedule for next year," the team tells Sporza.
"That Jurgen doesn't come to Paris does not automatically mean that he won't ride the Tour. It is much too early to speculate about that."
This year Van Den Broeck fell ill during the Tour, prompting Belgian media to speculate that the Belgian grand tour star will have a different focus in 2015.
