German Tony Martin is fully focused on the World Championships time trial. The Etixx-Quick Step rider explained that he is really motivated and he hopes to be in a great shape for this event that take place on September 23 in Richmond.
About his schedule, the staff of his team confirmed he will not start the Vuelta a Espana. The German rider will make his return to competition at the Vattenfall Cyclassics in Hamburg, Germany, on August 23.
"I want to be world champion again. If I was not able to win the individual time trial, then I am not going to compete", he told a few days ago according to newspaper Thüringer Landeszeitung. "I'm very pleased, because I have currently minor injuries. I no longer suffer, but my shoulder will be totally repair in three weeks. I am able to train normally now."
