2013 Italian champion Ivan Santaromita has rounded up the top ten on stage four of the Tour of Norway.
Ahead, Amets Txurruka (Caja Rural – Seguros RGA) claimed victory atop the category two finish, whilst Jesper Hansen (Tinkoff – Saxo) hung on for fourth place to retain the leader’s jersey going into the final day of racing.
The top ten result backs up Santaromita’s third place yesterday and moves him into fourth overall, one-minute 33seconds off the pace.
“Mat Hayman and all the boys did a great job getting the team to the front to give them a good crack at the final climb,” sport director Matt Wilson said.
“We knew it was a bit crazy going through the town and straight up the climb and we were hoping that if we hit it right in the final that a couple of guys from GC would get caught and that was the case.
“Then Jens Keukeleire controlled the pace from the front up the climb. We were hoping Caleb (Ewan) could get over it and have a go at the finish but the climb was just a bit too hard for him in the end.”
