Sven Nys is in his last weeks as cyclo-cross rider but is also working to be ready for the second part of his professional career. Yesterday Nys attended a course in team management at the Belgian Cycling Federation.

From next season, Sven Nys will be the team manager at Telenet-Fidea. One of the elements is the ”team leader” course which is mandatory.

"It was really about everything", Nys told the Mediahuis newspapers after the course for the continental teams. Sven Vanthourenhout, Kevin Hulsmans and Mario De Clercq also attended.

"How should you behave when you're driving behind a peloton as a team leader? When can you drive behind the leading group? When do you stay behind the pack?

"As a rider, you often do not think about such things. Sometimes there are rules but it is also about regulations and even unwritten laws. There is much to look at."
