As it was the case in the Koppenbergcross, Sven Nys had to settle for second in yesterday's Superprestige race in Zonhoven. This time he was beaten by Kevin Pauwels after Wout van Aert had been faster 24 hours earlier.

"This was a bad weekend," he told Sporza. "In Zonhoven I tried to make the race hard. And I noticed that everyone was in difficulty when I accelerated. But

As Sven Nys had sat in Koppenbergcross Zonhoven take Sunday in the Superprestige settle for second place. This time Kevin Pauwels was the better of him. A day earlier, he was defeated controversially by Wout van Aert. "This was a rotweekend" grumbles Nys at Sporza . "I have Zonhoven tried to make the race hard. And I noticed that everyone was in trouble when I stood on the accelerator. But then I had to slow down which allowed Pauwels and van der Haar to come back. Then you know it is difficult.

"I still had somethink  left in the final lap and made an attack. But my legs were completely empty. In the end, I have to congratulate Pauwels who was slightly faster in the sprint.

"I had a very nice feeling on the bike. It was even the best day of the year. With a little more rain and a tougher surface, things will be fine."
