Nelson Oliveira is all but set to swap Lampre-Merida for Movistar. Biciciclismo, the Spanish website, report that the 26 year old from Portugal only has to sign the contract to seal the deal.
The three time national TT champ and one time road race champ finally took a pro win in emphatic style when he soloed clear on stage 13 of the Vuelta, before taking a second place a few days later.
Jorge Arcas will go pro with Movistar next year, and that is the only deal they have done so far. But Oliveira’s teammate Rafael Valls and Colombian Carlos Betancur, who recently terminated his deal a season early at AG2R-La Mondiale, are being linked.
