Talented climber Daan Olivier will get a chance to lead Team Giant-Shimano when he lines up as team captain in the Vuelta Burgos. The Dutchman leads a young team that also contains Americans Lawson Craddock and Chad Haga.
Team Giant-Shimano have one Spanish excursion this August before the Vuelta a España, with the Vuelta a Burgos.
A young team will head to the five day race including Lawson Craddock and Chad Haga both looking for a good performance, and they will be joined by a third American in Tom Peterson who brings experience to the team.
Twenty-one year-old Daan Olivier also lines-up in Burgos after a strong showing at Clasica San Sebastian and a good period of altitude training, and he will have an eye on performing well here.
Also heading to Spain is stagiaire Steven Lammertink, and this follows his first race for the team at Prudential RideLondon on Sunday where he took home the sprints classification after a day out front in the breakaway.
Team Giant-Shimano coach Lionel Marie said: "Burgos will be a good race for those who are riding the Vuelta to fine tune their form.
"During the race we will focus on supporting Daan on the key stages and work on riding as a team. The race will also give our stagiaire Steven a good idea of what the professional world is like and also at riding as a team at this level."
