Omega Pharma-Quick Step may be the leading Belgian team but at today's national TT championships they play the role as outsiders. Driedaagse van De Panne Guillaume Van Keirsbulck may finish on the podium on the flat course while climber Pieter Serry will use the race to prepare for the upcoming Giro d'Italia.
Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team will have two riders competing in the Belgian National Time Trial Championship on Thursday, May 1st. Pieter Serry and Guillaume Van Keirsbulck will participate in the chrono competition that takes place in Hooglede-Gits.
"It will be quite a technical time trial," Sport Director Tom Steels said. "There are a lot of corners, and up and down sections. There will be three laps of about 14.4km each.
"We are at the start with two motivated riders, Guillaume and Pieter. Guillaume will try to do well. He did a good job in the time trial at Driedaagse de Panne. He has the power to go a good time trial tomorrow. It's a course that speaks to his skills as it will be one for strong riders who are also technically sound in the corners.
"Pieter is also motivated and to will be a good exercise prior to the Giro d'Italia, where we will have a TTT in the beginning."
