Having developed Michal Kwiatkowski into one of the best riders in the world, Omega Pharma-Quick Step have signed another Polish talent. Lukasz Wisniowski will be riding for the team in 2015 and 2016.

OPQS has reached a contract agreement with Lukasz Wisniowski, a 22-year-old Polish rider who rode for Continental Team Etixx in 2014. Highlights of his career include an overall victory at Circuit des Ardennes International as well as a 6th overall in Le Tour de Bretagne Cycliste this season.

"We monitored his progress for a long time," OPQS CEO Patrick Lefevere said." Like Michal Kwiatkowski he's a high-quality Polish rider, and we hope Lukasz can fit immediately well in with the team as Petr Vakoc and Julian Alaphilippe did this year."

"I'm very happy that next year I will have an opportunity to be part of OPQS family," Wisniowski said "I can definitely say that my dream comes true. I am convinced that this team is the best place for me to develop my cycling abilities and gain a lot of experience.

"I would like to thank every person that I had pleasure to meet and work with in the Etixx team. It was an awesome two years for me. Also, I am very greatful to Patrick Lefevere for believing in me and giving me a chance to be a pro rider. I'm looking forward to riding in an OPQS jersey next year."

"Lukasz is a rider who has a great knowledge about the situation in the race," said René Andrle, Sport director of Etixx Team. "He moves excellently in the peloton. He has a consistent performance and shape throughout the year, which he proved this year by his exceptional results. In the spring part, he belonged to the best riders in our category.

"He takes the preparation very seriously, he is spending the whole winter in Calpe and during the season, he is preparing himself before the important races in Livigno or in Karpacz. He spends lot of training time with Michal Kwiatkowski, which means a good source of experience for him as well. Since the first days with our team, Lukasz was proving to be devoted to his dream of becoming the pro rider, which comes through now at the number one team in the world."
