At today’s Cycling Ireland extraordinary general meeting to decide on the nomination of Pat McQuaid to stand for a third term as UCI president, the present delegates voted not to endorse the nomination: 74 voted for the nomination, 91 voted against.
McQuaid has received an endorsement by Swiss Cycling, as he’s currently residing in Switzerland. However, it is not yet sure that this nomination will stand up to scrutiny; an appeal against it has been filed, with the decision pending.
