Yesterday Kevin Pauwels won the Superprestige race in Zonhoven by beating Sven Nys in a sprint. However, the Belgian did not expect to be in contention for the win.

"I thought that Sven was gone," he told Sporza. "But I took a lot of risks in the final corner and Nys made a small mistake. I had enough speed to get past him."

It was his first win of the season for Pauwels. 

"Finally, a victory. Hopefully I will be able to win again. In any case, I am getting better and better."
