It was nother attack by Androni Sidermec in the Giro d'Italia queen stage where Franco Pellizotti made it into the 10-rider group on the descent of the Passo Carlo Magno and continued until the beginning of the climb of Mortirolo. He hoped to be given room by the peloton but the favourites kept them on a short leash.
