AG2R La Mondiale has announced its selectionfor the Tour de Romandie (April 28-May 3). The French team has decided to send its leaders to Switzerland as Romain Bardet and Jean-Christophe Péraud , recent winner of the Critérium International, will both be at the start.
They will rely on the help of Carlos Betancur and Alexis Vuillermoz . The latter is in great shape as evidenced by his beautiful 6th place at the top of the Mur de Huy in the Flèche Wallonne.
"I had had less preparation for the early season," Peraud said. "My victory on the second stage of the Critérium International and in the general classification was a surprise as I had not been at my best ut it's always good for the morale. I still have trouble knowing where I am with my form. I tested myself on the last stage of the Giro del Trentino (5th). The Tour de Romandie has often been unsuccessful for me in the past, except in 2013 (6th). After Romandie, I'll take a break of a few days and go on holiday. Then it will be time to start another season with new objectives."
