Yesterday Rob Peeters decided to skip the cross race in Bredene due to illness. It is not yet certain whether the Vastgoedservice rider will be at the start of today's Superprestige race in Diegem.
"For a while, I have felt that my health was not at its best. On Saturday morning, I felt completely wrong and I went to see the doctor. He diagnosed me with an bronchitis and adviced me not to start in Bredene," Peeters tells Sporza.
"I will wait for Sunday to see if I feel better. If that is not the case, I will also miss the evening cross in Diegem. Then my next race will be in Loenhour [on Tuesday, ed.]
"But I still hope to start the race in Diegem on Sunday. It's never nice to have to cancel at the last minute, but I didn't want to jeopardize my next races by racing in Bredene despite my ilness."
