FDJ, who have already scored big wins with Arnaud Demare in 2016, are set to record another massive win. L’Equipe reports that star rider Thibaut Pinot is going to sign a new deal until the end of 2018 before the Tour de France.
Pinot is out of contract this year and had indicated he would listen to offers from other teams, but the French paper has revealed he has opted to stay with the team he turned pro with six seasons ago.
Part of the reason he is believed to be staying is because FDJ, the French lottery, guaranteed their sponsorship until 2018.
Pinot will lead the French charge at the Tour de France next month, looking to build on third place in 2014.
