After a bad crash in Fleche Wallonne where he was lying in a ditch before FDJ man Anthony Roux fell on him, Wout Poels has undergone successful surgery for a broken bone in his shoulder.
The Team Sky Dutchman’s initial diagnosis was that nothing was broken, but further investigation proved otherwise.
He was unable to ride the Tour de Romandie as a result and tweeted a few days ago that he hopes to be back in the saddle really soon as he prepares for the Tour de France.
