Team Sky can count on a very impressive squad on Liège-Bastogne-Liège in their attempt to finally land a Classics triumph.

With the likes of Sergio Henao (2nd at Flèche Wallonne), Rigoberto Uran, Kanstantin Siutsou (winner of stage 1 in Giro del Trentino) and of course Chris Froome who took a late flight from Nice and only arrived on Saturday afternoon in Liège, Sky will be looking to end their winless streak in the spring Classics. The British squad will also be counting on Paris-Nice winner Richie Porte who discovered the Flèche Wallonne last Wednesday and takes on Liège-Bastogne-Liège for the first time as well.

“I think that the whole race is quite strategic but after 160 km is when the race really begins for us," Porte explained. Maybe the new course is easier, but it’s still not an easy race. Flèche wasn’t a good one for me. I got sick after País Vasco and had problems recovering. The goal for me is to do the best that I can tomorrow [Sunday] and then on to [Tour of] Romandie. But other than that we do have a good team here with five strong guys. I don’t think you can come here the first time and ride to win. I hope to come back some year and have a real go at this race.”
