Despite being an ex-Sky rider and close friend of Chris Froome, BMC’s Richie Porte has confirmed he will not aid his former employers in ant way possible at the Tour de France.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Saturday's first stage in Normandy, Porte said: "Off the bike we're still friends, but on the bike it's important to say we're rivals. It's no different with him than it is with Nairo Quintana or anyone else here. I still want to beat him.”
"I don't expect favours off those guys and I don't think they expect any favours off me. It's a bike race."
