Filippo Pozzato has been selected for the Italian squad for the Tour de San Luis. The choice is noteworthy because the 34-year-old Italian has no official team for next season. According to unconfirmed rumors, the Continental Skydive Dubai is interested in signing the Italian.

Italy is the only European country that will have a national team at the Tour de San Luis. In addition to Pozzato, the Italian team consists of Elia Viviani (Sky), Jakub Mareczko (Southeast), Edward Ravasi, Riccardo Minali and Edoardo Affini.

The Tour de San Luis (UCI 2.1) will be held from the 17th to the 24th of January. Seven WorldTour teams will be at the start: Tinkoff, Astana, Movistar, Cannondale, AG2R La Mondiale, Lampre-Merid and Etixx-QuickStep.
