Having the second part of the 2014 season derailed by a leg fracture, Domenico Pozzovivo hopes to his the top disposition for upcoming Italian stage events. Tiny Ag2r-La Mondiale climber claims that he has completely recovered from the injury and with intensive altitude training in his legs, should be ready to show his aggressive attitude in the mountains again.

 

„Last year I proved I was capable of fighting until the end. If only I had a bit more luck..,” Pozzovivo recalled in an interview for Tuttobiciweb.

 

The Ag2r-La Mondiale climber kicked off his 2015 season in Australia, but the European part of rivalry will start for him with an appearance in Tirreno-Adriatico starting next Wednesday. After spending some time training on the slopes of Mount Etna, Pozzovivo should be ready to challenge the biggest stage racing stars in likes of Contador, Froome, Quintana or Nibali.

 

„Exactly,” the Italian rider confirmed his appearance in Tirreno-Adriatico. „This is my return to competition after the season debut in Australia.”

 

Pozzovivo also revealed his schedule for upcoming weaks, hinting that Liege-Bastogne-Liege will be the first of his major objectives set for 2015, obviously along with the Giro d'Italia.

 

„After the race of the two seas I will do the Catalunya and return to do some altitude training in Val Senales, at over 3,200 meters. Then I will ride Trentino, Liege and the Giro. Needless to say that I dream about a great result in la Doyenne, as well as in the Giro,” Pozzovivo concluded.
