U23 Worlds silver medallist Simone Consonni will not start the 2016 season with Lampre-Merida. The Italian sprinter who was signed by the blue-fuchsia team in September, will continue to wear the jersey of Team Colpack for a few months before joining his new team.
The reasons for the decision have not been announced, at least for now.
This season Consonni won seven races and was second at the U23 World Championships. He has also been riding on the track where he won the silver medal at the recent European Championships.
