The Andy Schleck’s retirement, who won the Tour de France 2010, left "a sense of unfinished business" at Tour director Christian Prudhomme. "This outcome leaves regrets over his intrinsic talent," said Christian Prudhomme Thursday, October 9th, in the process of carrying out a reconnaissance of the Alpine stages of the 2015 Tour de France. 

"Cyrille Guimard was the first to tell me. His first strokes of brilliance in the Giro (and 2nd best junior in 2007) had been an omen of a brilliant career. But the last three seasons have been his years of falls and incessant galleys. He kept falling and trying to get up. Presumably there was a real break in his career after falling du Dauphiné 2012", he explained.

"He impressed me in 2009 Liège-Bastogne-Liège and of course in his stage win at the summit of the Galibier (Tour de France 2011). By then it was right to imagine a series of prestige," said Christian Prudhomme.
